Do you twitter?  Do you know what twittering is? 

Twitter (http://www.twitter.com) has taken our nation by storm, and is the latest in tools of social networking.  I refer to twitter as Facebook on speed.  It is a brief (up to 140 characters) message that you post on the internet for your followers to read. 

There is a wide variety of reasons to twitter, everything from simply wanting to share with a group of others what you are currently doing, seeing, thinking about or giving attention to!  Then there are those that use Twitter as a business tool to get information out to a large amount of followers and then keep them up to date on either products they are selling, information about products already purchased or upcoming products that may be of interest.

I recently was watching NBC's Today show and they had a musical guest who performed a concert and upon completing rushed off the stage to tweet "I love you NYC!" as they perused the audience asking what fans thought of the show they affirmed it was a great concert and that they had already received a tweet from the head of the band stating he loved NYC!

Just this morning I heard on the John Tesh radio show that tweeting has become a part of some Church's in America today.  There was an opportunity for those in the audience to tweet questions regarding the sermon to a minister and an opportunity for a minister to tweet sermon outlines for those in attendance to follow along.

There is obviously a large debate surrounding the use of tweeting and whether or not this is an effective means by which to communicate in today's society or is it just another distraction and time waster in all of our lives?
