Pittsburgh is not just the home of the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers, or the Stanley Cup Winners the Pittsburgh Penguins, or even the home of the former Steel Capital. It was the home town of Famous artist Andy Warhol. Many people have seen many of his painting/artistry without realizing that it was his work, I know I have felt that way.
One of the coolest things about this artist is that he was so passionate about the arts that he wanted to create a school/area for people to be able to see and feel the types of art he enjoyed. And other arts as well.
Located on the North Shore of Pittsburgh, The Warhol is one of the four Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and is a collaborative project of the Carnegie Institute, Dia Center for the Arts, and The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts, Inc. Opened in 1994, the Museum features extensive permanent collections of art and archives on one of the most influential American artists of the twentieth century. It is also a primary resource for anyone seeking insights into contemporary art and popular culture.

For the inner artist or even pop culture diva that some of us have, this is a great way to get to know Andy Warhol and the influence that he had on things like pop culture and more.
Many people do not see museums as a FUN time, but this is one of those museums where that is not the case. They offer many workshops and opportunities for young and old to take a look into the arts that Mr. Warhol was so passionate about!
Not only is this a place to visit, but this is a place to learn so much about the arts. My favorite thing about the museum is that they have what they call "Pop Parties". Get your kids involved in learning about something fun, and its interactive too so no boredom here ladies and gents!
There is a section on the web that they provide that can help further or introduce the Andy Warhol legacy, in the classroom or the home. This is a great tool to use before going to the museum.
This would be a great afternoon outing, and it may even inspire a few to get out those old crayola's and make some great refrigerator art, and who knows, maybe even the new adaptation of the Campbell's Tomato Soup can... J
Please visit their website for more information, it is a great place to check out for the day! Andy Warhol
