I recently purchased some software from my old company and I am trrying to get the license transferred into my name.  Yesterday I called the 800 number and spoke with a woman for about 30 minutes just to get a case number, which I did.  I logged in today and still did not have an open case.  I decided to use the live chat feature to find out why.

Below is a live chat with Adobe support.  I was lucky enough to copy it, because if I tried to explain it I would surely leave something out.  This whole exchange took approximately 35 minutes & you won't believe it.

Thank you for choosing Adobe. A representative will be with you shortly. Your estimated wait time is 0 minute(s) and 22 second(s) or longer as there are 1 customer(s) in line ahead of you.

  •

  • Sandesh: Hello, welcome to Adobe Customer Service.

  • Scot Edgell: Hello

  • Sandesh: Hi Scot Edgell.

  • Sandesh: Please give me a moment to review your request and help you with that.

  • Scot Edgell: Thank you

  • Sandesh: I understand that you are not able to view the case number 203071840 under the support portal, right?

  • Scot Edgell: That is correct. It tells me I have no cases at this time.

  • Sandesh: I'll be glad to help you with this.

  • Scot Edgell: Can I get an email address to send the License Transfer document to instead?

  • Sandesh: Scot, I have located your account and see that there is no case number found.

  • Scot Edgell: The representative I spoke to yesterday told me that it would appear on the customer support portal.

  • Sandesh: Was this case number provided to you over the phone?

  • Scot Edgell: yes

  • Scot Edgell: 203071840 was the number given

  • Sandesh: Okay.

  • Sandesh: I have checked there is no case number, however let me help you with your issue.

  • Scot Edgell: Great!

  • Scot Edgell: I have 4 License Transfer docs in one PDF file that I need to submit in order to do an upgrade to Adobe Creative Suite

  • Sandesh: Can I have the serial number for the product?

  • Scot Edgell: All of them? There is Photoshop, Indesign & Illustrator CS + Creative Suite CS 2. Which one do you want first?

  • Scot Edgell: Can't you just supply a case number so I can upload this PDF?

  • Sandesh: Let me try to locate the serial numbers under your account.

  • Scot Edgell: They aren't in my account because I just purchased them from my old company that went out of business. I want to register them under my name instead of my old company's name to be legal.

  • Sandesh: Scot, since you have purchased the product from your company you will have to first get a transfer of licensing done from your company's name to your name for all the products.  Once it is done all the products will be under your name.

  • Scot Edgell: I DID! That's what I'm trying to upload as a PDF. The documents are filled out and signed already.

  • Sandesh: Since I'm not able to pull up the case number can I have the serial numbers for the products?

  • Scot Edgell: The serial numbers are on the Transfer of License forms I am trying to submit to you.

  • Sandesh: Was the transfer of License request sent from your account or from your company's account?

  • Scot Edgell: I haven't sent it yet because I don't have an open case on your customer support portal in which to upload the files. That is the reason I contacted you today. Where do I submit the Transfer forms? Can I send them in an email to someone?

  • Sandesh: Thank you for waiting. One moment please.

  • Sandesh: I'll be right with you.

  • Sandesh: Thank you for staying online.

  • Sandesh: Scot, do you have the license form signed by your company and you handy?

  • Scot Edgell: Yes.

  • Sandesh: Great.

  • Sandesh: I'll explain you how to submit the form.

  • Sandesh: I would request you to login to your Adobe account and then select Customer Support Portal.

  • Scot Edgell: I am logged in already.

  • Sandesh: Okay.

  • Sandesh: Please select Serial Number at the bottom.

  • Scot Edgell: OK

  • Sandesh: Then select product registration.

  • Scot Edgell: OK

  • Sandesh: Select Proceed to Online form.

  • Scot Edgell: What should I fill in?

  • Sandesh: Fill in all the details in the (asterisk) and then at the bottom attach the form and submit the request.

  • Sandesh: Scot, once you submit the the request you will get a new case number.

  • Sandesh: With this case number please contact the Phone support and they will transfer the License to your account.

  • Scot Edgell: Thank you

I told you!
